CHADDS FORD, Pennsylvania (TheStreet) -- Endo Pharmaceuticals agreed to acquire American Medical Systems for $30 a share, or $2.9 billion in cash, in a bid to gain scale in devices and health care services and diversify sales and profits.
The deal also includes the assumption and repayment of $312 million of American Medical's debt.
Shares of American Medical closed Friday at $22.33.
