Do you get bored easily with your home decor? Don’t spend a lot of time or money redecorating everything every time you get restless with your home; take to reinvigorating your art choices and you could change the entire look of your home and satisfy any finicky design needs you might have. We have a couple of tips on how to make this happen:
1) Collect and keep While we often tell people to get rid of clutter, we always advocate keeping every piece of art that comes your way — even if it’s not your style at the moment. Like your tastes in clothing changes, your art tastes might alter, and you might like something later on!
2) Consider things that aren’t art A couple of nights ago I ended up at a rather raunchy bingo night involving some, ahem, movie parodies, where instead of letters and numbers on the board, you marked off, how do I say, actions. Don’t worry, it was all PG (okay, maybe PG-13), but I saved my two playing cards — they’re going to make a hilarious pair of matching art pieces once framed. Keep your eyes and ears open for things that could be framed or displayed together to make art.
3) Make it easy on you No one really has time to do a lot of redecorating all the time, so make it easy on yourself and have everything ready to hang as it comes to you, and install a hanging system that allows you the flexibility to hang different weighted items on it.
4) Consider going gallery Take a page out of a gallery’s book and install a sort of system that will allow you to change out quickly and easily. It could be one of the myriad of professional ones available, or it could be something you DIY. Anything’s possible!
