One of the first Nokia phones that will be sporting the Symbian Belle OS is the Nokia 700 which claims to be the most compact smartphone in the market.
If you’re thinking the honor goes to Sony Ericsson X10 Mini which feels small in your hand but it’s not in terms of volume, it’s a bit on the thick side. The Nokia 700 is smaller in volume and its closest rival would be the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray which is just a teeny bit bigger.

Enough talk about size. The Nokia 700 still packs quite a punch despite its frail size. It is powered by a 1 GHz processor and Nokia’s latest Symbian OS, Belle. It has a 3.2” AMOLED touchscreen display with Nokia’s ClearBlack technology and the tough Gorilla Glass. It also features a 2GB internal storage, 5 megapixel fixed-focus camera with flash and all the usual connectivity: 3G, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS and NFC.
NFC or near field communication allows your phone to interact with other NFC devices simply by close proximity. Not a lot of applications for NFC as of the moment but it’s good to have the technology present on your device.
The battery life on the Nokia 700 is rated at up to 7.3 hours talk-time or up to 465 hours on standby. It is also Nokia’s greenest phone to date constructed using materials like bio-plastics, recycled plastics and recycled metals.
Local pricing and availability is still unknown at the moment but Nokia is pegging it at USD390 before taxes and subsidies.
