Samsung Wave 3, M & Y Bada phones announced

Samsung Wave 3, M & Y Bada phones announced:

So aside from the LTE model of the Galaxy S2, Samsung also announced three new Bada OS smartphones — the Samsung Wave 3, Wave M and Wave Y with the Wave 3 definitely being the flagship Bada handset.

Despite its success with Android and the Galaxy line, Samsung is not quitting its home-brewed Bada OS. These new line-up of Samsung Wave handsets certainly will attest to that.

Samsung Wave 3

4″ AMOLED display

1.4GHz processor

HSDPA 14.4Mbps, HSUPA 5.76Mbps

3GB internal memory

up to 32GB via microSD

WiFi 802.11 b/g/n

Bluetooth 3.0

USB 2.0

5MP autofocus camera w/ LED flash

VGA front-facing camera

720p video recording @ 30fps

GPS w/ aGPS support

Bada OS 2.0

NFC support

TouchWiz UI

1500mAh Li-Ion battery

Unfortunately though, there are no dual-core processors or large internal storage (16GB seems to be the de facto size for their Android superphones) in the line-up giving us that impression that Samsung is targeting the mid-range market with these handsets (they said so last year during the Bada Developer seminar here in Manila).

The Wave M and Wave Y comes with slower processors (~800MHz) and smaller screen real estate (3.65″ for M and 3.2″ for Y).

These handsets will also come with Samsung ChatON pre-installed, a mobile communication/messaging service that will allow smartphones (and even feature phones) from all major platforms (iOS, Android, Symbian) to communicate with each other for free.
