In this year’s Gamescom, 16 professional DoTA teams will be battling out for bragging rights as the best DoTA 2 team in the world, and also a cool 1 million US dollars. In a field dominated by Asians, (11 teams with 5 from China), 1 team will represent the Philippines, Team Asus.Mineski. According to GGNet We are currently ranked 16 in the world but the teams who will be competing aren’t necessarily the top 16 teams although the top 11 in the world are competing.
Representing the Asus-Mineski Team are: James Kenneth Valdez (Team Captain), Julius Sto. Domingo, John Jerick Roxas, Joshua Dela Serna, Jessie Cristy Cuyco. Team Manager Ronald Robins will also join the Philippine contingent.
The competition will take place on August 17-21 in Cologne, Germany. It will be broadcasted in four languages (English, Chinese, Russian and German) and will be streamed worldwide. Gamescom is the world’s largest trade fair and event highlight for interactive games and entertainment.
