Nokia N9 dummy arrives, real one coming soon!:

We got this dummy unit of the Nokia N9 shipped from Shenzen yesterday. It’s just a replica and doesn’t really come close to the real thing (seen it up close during the launch event in Singapore).

The dummy unit will eventually end up with stores that are looking to sell the real Nokia N9 once it becomes available. The materials on this one isn’t good and all made of plastic, including the display. What’s interesting though is that they added an LED light inside so that when you press the power button, the display lights up for a couple of seconds.

Speaking of the real thing — in a briefing with the media yesterday, Nokia Philippines showed a preview of the Symbian Belle along with the new Nokia 700 and the Nokia 701.

The question regarding the release of the Nokia N9 in the Philippines obviously came up and company reps assured that it will be out by 4th quarter of this year. That means as early as October or as late as December.

As for the pricing, a Nokia rep back in June indicated in one of the interviews after the event that the Nokia N9 will have a suggested retail price of $660 (Php29k) for the 16GB and $749 (Php33k) for the 64GB.
