With all the resurgence of bohemian trends of the 1960s and 1970s in fashion and interiors recently, it’s no wonder that we’d see a little bit of that kitschy craft, macrame, show up. An instant way to create a hippie, natural feel to a space, it’s not the sort of thing you’d normally spot in a modern home, until we came across this DIY project involving a modern translation of macrame as well as some favorite modern interior elements: succulents!
Spotted on the Skinny Laminx, this would be a great project to do in an afternoon — and doesn’t require power tools! All you need is some rope and some cool planters with plants in them. The instructions on the site are easy enough and we bet once you get this method down you’ll be macrame-ing in no time! Check out the full instructions and more photos here.
What do you think? Should macrame stay in the ’60s or is it ready for a comeback?! Let us know in the comments below.
