Huawei’s very own 7-inch dual-core Honeycomb tablet, the Huawei MediaPad, was shown to members of the press earlier today. We missed the event since we’re still in transit from SG but was able to squeeze out some details like release date and retail price.
We’ve had some hands-on time with the Huawei MediaPad way back in June at CommunicAsia and it was a huge news that time since they were the first one to introduce a Honeycomb 3.2 tablet at a really affordable price (it’s pegged at $499 elsewhere).

According to our source, the MediaPad will be finally released in the Philippines before end of November with a suggested retail price of around Php20k. We’re certainly hoping it will be under the Php20k mark. With an HSPA+ modem, it will surely be the most affordable 3G-capable, dual-core Honeycomb tablet in the Philippines.
