Top Ad Sales Person at Turner Entertainment Leaving the Company: The top advertising sales exec at Turner Entertainment plans to leave the company after 18 years, Jon Lafayette reports in B&C.Linda Yaccarino, an executive VP at Turner, will leave when her contract expires, according to the report.David Levy, head of sales, distribution and sports for Turner Broadcasting, announced the move in an internal memo, saying Yaccarino is leaving to pursue other opportunities, the story reports.The report adds that the Turner Entertainment Networks ad sales team will report to Levy for now.Yaccarino also oversaw program acquisition for Turner’s cable nets, the story notes, and that responsibility will go to Steve Koonin, president of Turner Entertainment Networks.Yaccarino was known as an innovator on the ad sales side, the story notes, with Turner’s TVinContext initiative among her accomplishments.In the internal memo, Levy said: "Linda's position in the company, her profile in the industry and the personal regard we have for her add significance to her departure. She leaves with our thanks and sincere best wishes for continued success in her next chapter."Levy added: "This decision creates an opportunity for us to review and refine the operating models for our Entertainment Ad Sales and Acquisitions functions. We have complete confidence in our deep bench of sales experts and business leaders, whose ability, commitment and loyalty will guide us through this period of change and continue to represent Turner's industry-leading brands in and to the marketplace."
