FIRST WORLD PROBLEM SOLVED: These Earbuds Switch Audio Channels Depending On Which Ear They're In:

We like the idea behind these earbuds from the IGARASHI Design Interface Project -- they detect which ear they're in and change audio channels to make sure you don't miss any of the subtleties of your favorite music.

It's all possible due to a single proximity sensor -- if it's pointing at you, it feeds that earbud with left audio. If it points away from you, it knows to switch to right audio.

If you want to listen to music with a friend, the earbuds can provide you both with a mono mix so that neither one of you misses out on the other half of the music.
