Grown-Up Problems

Grown-Up Problems: American Pie: Reunion doesn't stray far from the formula established in 1999's American Pie. At its core, it's just a story of a group of friends getting into all sorts of raunchy trouble as they navigate their own sexual development. But of course, the characters are now older, which presents a bit of a problem. While the laughs are more or less still there, the story part of the movie suffers as its characters languish in plotlines that just don't make a lot of sense for adults. The movie, along with much of its cast, hasn't really aged well, and though nostalgia is a powerful effect, it can't quite save this movie from being largely tedious.
