Arsenio Hall Plans Return to Late-Night Talk: After almost two decades off the air, Arsenio Hall plans a return to the late-night television schedule with a new syndicated program that will debut in the fall of 2013.CBS Television Distribution is working with Hall to develop the show, with Tribune Broadcasting as a partner in the production. With the show already sold to Tribune stations and major market stations from the CBS Television Stations group, the show has distribution lined up for 52% of the country, including all top 10 markets and 17 of the top 20 markets.The return to late-night TV comes after Hall won the latest edition of "Celebrity Apprentice" on NBC. Hall hosted the syndicated “The Arsenio Hall Show,” produced by Paramount Domestic Television, from 1989-1994. Paramount has since become CBS Television Distribution.In making the announcement, CBS Television Distribution President John Nogawski said: “We’re excited to welcome Arsenio back to the family and partnering on his new, late-night syndicated talk show. Arsenio had a substantial following with his previous late-night show, and that same 18-34 audience is now right in the middle of the late-night core audience of 35-54. Years ago, he transcended time periods and attracted a cross-over audience while bringing a fresh perspective to late night. That same need in the market exists today as when we originally launched. We are looking forward to the same success with Arsenio's seasoned expertise and appeal in this genre.”Hall’s earlier late-night show earned a place in pop culture history when then-presidential candidate Bill Clinton made an appearance on the show in 1992 and played “Heartbreak Hotel” on saxophone.
