Former NBC Executive Called 'The Most Destructive Media Executive Ever' Is Among Top Candidates to Lead Tribune: Tribune, the troubled media company that has been in Chapter 11 for more than three years, is considering former NBCUniversal executive Jeff Zucker as one of its top candidates for chief executive, reports the New York Post.Zucker was once labeled "a case study in the most destructive media executive ever to exist" by another network executive, commenting in a piece by New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd.Zucker didn't return a call seeking comment, the Post notes. It's not known whether he would be interested in the job.Tribune is looking for an executive with television experience, as the company owns 23 television stations in addition to its newspapers such as the Los Angeles Times.Another candidate under consideration is Mark Shapiro, the chief executive of Dick Clark Productions. He's from Chicago, where Tribune is based, and also serves on its board, the story notes. Shapiro also didn't return a call seeking comment.
