MANILA, Philippines—The United Nationalist Alliance may have gotten Representative Milagros “Mitos” Magsaysay, but the Liberal Party is fielding what one of its stalwarts called “the real Magsaysay.”
Senator Franklin Drilon, LP vice chairman, announced Thursday the candidacy of former Senator Ramon “Jun” Magsaysay Jr. in next year’s senatorial election.
Magsaysay, the son and namesake of the former President, will be part of the LP lineup, which is facing a “formidable” challenge from the UNA coalition put up by Vice President Jejomar Binay.
