MANILA, Philippines--Justice Secretary Leila De Lima has designated an officer in charge at the Bureau of Corrections after its director Gaudencio Pangilinan took a leave of absence following the controversy over the alleged abduction of convicted murderer Rolito Go from prison.
Manuel Co of the Parole and Probation Administration will again sit as OIC of the bureau.
Co previously sat as BuCor OIC when former Director Ernesto Diokno was investigated for the Antonio Leviste caper last year.
In a one page Department Order issued Wednesday, Co will oversee the daily operations of the BuCor. However, excluded in his duty are policy making decisions, approval of long term contrac...
