UK enjoys hottest day of the year:

High of 31.4C recorded at Cavendish in Suffolk beats previous peak at London's Olympic Park on 25 July
Saturday was the hottest day of the year so far, with temperatures reaching 31.7C (89.06F).
The highest temperature was recorded at Cavendish in Suffolk, beating the previous record of 31.4C (88.5F) at London's Olympic Park on 25 July.
Large areas of Britain were enjoying sunny weather, with the hottest regions being in east and south-east England, which recorded temperatures rivalling those of the Caribbean.
Much of the rest of the UK was also enjoying warm temperatures, albeit with some showers in the west and Wales, and cooler temperatures in Scotland and Northern Ireland, according to MeteoGroup.
Sunday will present a more unsettled picture across much of the UK with showers spreading northwards, some of which could be heavy and thundery.
But temperatures could still reach 30C (86F) in London and 26C (78.8F) in other parts of the country.
