East Bay Mini Maker Faire

East Bay Mini Maker Faire:

Among other things, Gregory Gavin of Riveropolis will be at the fair to create a fast-moving play river.

It’s true, many of us here at MAKE are still recovering from Maker Faire New York, but that won’t stop many of us from heading over the Richmond Bridge this Sunday to the East Bay Mini Maker Fairein Oakland. You should come, too!
The East Bay is a haven for makers and tinkers of all kinds and this fair will be loaded with activities, presentations and makers by the dozens.

  • Come early to check out Chris Anderson’s DIY drones at 11am. There will be a crowd.

  • Bring clothing for the Swap-O-Rama-Rama screenprinting and textile hack zone.

  • Got a cranky applicance? Bring it to the fair’s FIXIT Clinic. You can take it to the Wreck Lab after if it doesn’t work out..

  • I’ll be at the Homesteading state at 2:30pm  to check out monkeyface eel poke poling expert Kirk Lombard.

If possible, take BART to the MacArthur Station and walk (it’s a 10 minute, 1/2 mile walk) or ride your bike. Bikes are allowed on BART on Sundays. If you are driving, Emerson Elementary School is 2 blocks away at Shafter and 45th and is offering parking for $5 as a fundraiser for their PTA.
See you there!
