Samsung ATIV S, the Windows Phone 8 version of the Galaxy S3:
Last week we get to see Samsung’s own Windows Phone 8 device, the ATIV S, which is going to be available by December.

At first glance, the Samsung ATIV S looks like the Galaxy S3 with a different color. To the untrained eye it has the same look, same thin bezel, same rounded body, same thin form, and even the same-sized button at the bottom center. It’s also as light as the Galaxy S3 with its 133g weight.

The ATIV S has a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED screen to make sure those Windows live tiles pop up as you use it. It’s powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core Krait 1.5 GHz processor with 1GB RAM and 32GB storage. What’s good here unlike old Windows phones is that you will also get the benefit of a microSD slot.

Based on our short experience gaming with the phone, it felt like you’re already playing on a console with its smooth performance. Quite admirable really.

The back has a glossy brushed aluminum finish that looked like the Pebble Blue version of the Galaxy SIII but more metallic. This phone has the same 8-megapixel rear camera capable of 1080p video recording and a 1.9 megapixel front camera for HD video chats.

Samsung is expecting to release the ATIV S this December and they’re looking at a sub-P25k price.
