Canon PowerShot SX50 HS gives you a super-duper 50x optical zoom:
Canon just pushed the limits on how far travel cameras can zoom with their PowerShot SX50 HS, a camera that can offer you up to a whopping 50x optical super-zoom.
This camera is equipped with a lens equivalent of 24-1200mm which makes it one of the most powerful in its category while maintaining a light at just over half a kilo in weight and compact body. A perfect tool for travelers and concert-goers.
It still packs a 12.1 million pixel on its CMOS sensor similar to its predecessor which is the PowerShot SX40 HS that can only go up to 30x zoom. If 50x is not enough, the PowerShot SX50 HS also has a Zoom Plus, which is just digital zoom that can expand its range to 100x.
For those who want to dabble with their photos for post-processing, the PowerShot SX50 HS can also shoot in RAW format as well as JPEG.
It can only manage f/3.4 at the widest point and f/6.5 at the telephoto end but with the Digic 5 processor used in their DSLRs, it performs admirable even at high sensitivity settings. It also has a Zoom Framing Assist Lock button to reduce camera shake at telephoto range.
To give versatility in shooting, Canon equipped the PowerShot SX50HS with a 2.8-inch articulating 461k dot LCD screen. It also provides you with advanced manual controls including Full Manual. This camera also facilitates Full HD video recording.
The Canon PowerShot SX50 HS is already available in stores with a retail price of Php25,998 and comes with a three-year warranty.
