Starcraft fans rejoice. Today marks the availability of the next chapter in the Starcraft II saga, the Heart of the Swarm, where Kerrigan aims to take down Arcturus Mengsk once and for all.
Actually, the servers will go live tonight at 9PM but you can get your boxed copies from authorized resellers for Php1,795. That’s the regular edition. There’s also the Collector’s Edition which is packed with digital and real-life goodies for Php4,995.00.

Heart of the Swarm brings new features to Wings of Liberty’s campaign and multiplayer experience. Over the course of 20 campaign missions, you’ll be able to follow Kerrigan along her new powerful abilities, as well as evolve various zerg strains into fearsome new subspecies to suit your playstyle.
New units include Terran HellbatsZerg Swarm Hosts, and Protoss Tempests. Other units will be updated with new capabilities. Heart of the Swarm introduces the group and clan systems and unranked matchmaking for “stress-free” online battles; Global Play, enabling players to battle others in different regions around the world; advanced stat tracking; an improved chat systemUI improvements; a physics system for more fluid battles; multiplayer replays; and the buzz around the Heart of the Swarm, the leveling system, which gives players new ways to earn customization options for their online profiles and more.
“Heart of the Swarm enhances every aspect of StarCraft II,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “In addition to Kerrigan’s campaign and the new multiplayer units and maps, we think players will really enjoy the new online elements and features that make StarCraft II more fun and easier to learn than ever before.”
The Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm is exclusively being distributed in the Philippines by X-Play Online Games Inc., a subsidiary of IP e-Games. At the launch, they also announced the StarCraft II Vengeance Cup: Philippine Nationals Tournament. This tournament will commence from April until June 2013, with a Php250,000 prize pool for the winners. Aside from the cash prize, the top two winners will represent the country in the Vengeance Cup SEA Finals in Bangkok, Thailand.
To join the tournament and other exclusive StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm events and promos from X-Play, you must register the 8-digit alphanumeric code found on the box with the sticker “For Philippine Distribution Only” at http://www.xplay.com.ph/hots.
From April to May, there will be 100 elimination legs in gaming cafes nationwide. The schedule will be posted at www.xplay.ph.
